Rice paper is a great alternative for traditional napkins. It's easy to work with, with less wrinkling and tearing, and can be adhered to all surfaces. Rice paper is fibrous, which allows for absorption of glues and other mediums, and colours print clearly and also retain their vibrancy.

How to APply your Premium Rice Decoupage Paper

• We always recommend if using over paint that you first paint the surface in the nearest shade to the main background colour of your paper as this helps your paper to seamlessly sink into your project.
• Next take your sheet of Premium Rice Decoupage Paper and if pattern matching then first carefully cut off border to aid your pattern matching process. For smaller areas where you will only be using part of the design we recommend that you carefully tear around the design area that you wish to use as this helps with a more seamless look.
• Apply a sealing medium such Dixie Belle Clear Coat, Flat Matte Decoupage Varnish or Gloss Shine Decoupage Varnish to the surface of your project. Lay your rice paper in position and apply a further coat over the top. At this stage your rice paper can be gently lifted and moved a little, but take care not tear the paper or cause wrinkling.
• Once you’re happy with the positioning carefully flatten out from the centre, talking care to eliminate wrinkles, you can do this by applying slight downward pressure with a sponge coated in sealant.
• Once dry, apply another coat of sealer.
